A Taste of Papua New Guinea’s Diverse Splendor – Papua New Guinea, a nation celebrated for its remarkable cultural diversity and breathtaking landscapes, serves as the backdrop for our Papua New Guinea Splendor. Occupying the eastern half of the world’s second-largest island and surrounded by 600 offshore islands, this country is a mosaic of over 800 native languages and an array of distinct coffee-producing provinces.

Our coffee is a medium roast that captures the essence of this diversity. Sourced from the provinces of Morobe, Madang, and especially Chimbu, it reflects the collaborative spirit of small agricultural cooperatives. These communities, deeply connected to their land, cultivate Typica and Mondo Novo varietals at altitudes ranging from 1,200 to 1,700 meters on volcanic loam soil, ensuring each bean is imbued with the island’s unique terroir.

The processing method — fully washed and sun-dried — preserves the coffee’s natural flavors, resulting in a cup that is balanced in body with a medium to high acidity. The tasting profile is a vibrant tapestry of caramel, honey, and fruit, complemented by underlying notes of citrus, floral, and jasmine. This complex blend of flavors not only showcases the richness of Papua New Guinea’s coffee but also pays homage to its rich cultural tapestry.

Papua New Guinea Splendor is more than just a beverage; it’s an invitation to explore one of the most culturally diverse nations in the world through the lens of its coffee. As you enjoy this coffee, you’re not only tasting the exceptional quality that comes from the Eastern and Western Highlands, Jiwaka, Morobe, and Chimbu provinces but also supporting the livelihoods of 400,000 rural households for whom coffee is a vital export.
