About This Roast
The rarest coffee on Earth
High in the hills of Bali, a small wild animal called a luwak comes out at night. It only eats the ripest, sweetest coffee cherries. It keeps the fruit and leaves the beans behind.
In the morning, Wayan walks the hills and picks those beans up by hand. One at a time. That is why there is so little of this coffee in the whole world.
Roasted by hand, over fire
No big machines. No factory. Wayan roasts your beans in a pan over a fire, the way his family always has. He stirs them slowly until they smell just right.
Flown from Bali to your door
This coffee never sits on a shelf. When you order, Wayan begins. Then your coffee flies from Bali to you. It takes about 4 weeks. The best things are worth the wait.
What it tastes like
Smooth. Never bitter. Never sour. Like caramel and dark chocolate.
Drink it the way Bali does
In Bali, nobody uses a filter. Here is how:
- Grind the coffee very fine, like flour.
- Put one big spoonful in a small cup.
- Pour in hot water and stir once.
- Wait 4 minutes. The grounds sink to the bottom.
- Sip slowly. Leave the last sip in the cup.
