A Journey to the Heart of Peruvian Coffee Excellence – Nestled in the lush, verdant slopes of the Amazonian Andes in northern Peru, our Peruvian Andes Treasure Coffee tells a story of passion, community, and sustainability. It begins with the Asociacion de Productores Cafetaleros Juan Marco El Palto (JUMARP), affectionately known as “El Palto,” and the Cooperativa Agricola de Servicios Norandino, where small farmers, including 40 women among its 189 coop members, unite in their commitment to producing organic and Fair Trade Certified coffee.
Founded in 2003 with just 35 small farmers, the El Palto coop has grown significantly, now overseeing approximately 550 hectares of coffee land. This growth is a testament to the coop’s mission to enhance specialty coffee production and profitability, ensuring a sustainable increase in income for each member family. The inclusion of female members on the Board of Directors highlights the coop’s dedication to equality and shared leadership.
Cultivated at altitudes ranging from 1,100 to 1,800 meters, this medium roast coffee thrives in rich clay mineral soils, benefiting from the ideal growing conditions provided by the Andean climate. The varietals Typica, Castillo, Bourbon, and Catimor, along with others, are carefully processed through gully washing and sun drying, preserving the beans’ intrinsic flavors and ensuring a coffee of unparalleled quality.
The tasting profile of this Peruvian treasure is as complex as the landscape from which it comes. Notes of lemon and herbal nuances are seamlessly intertwined with the richness of chocolate, complemented by the distinct flavors of salted caramel, silky sweetness, and citrus. This flavor palette not only reflects the diversity of the Andean terroir but also the spirit and resilience of the people who cultivate it.
Indulge in the Peruvian Andes Treasure Coffee and let it transport you to the majestic mountains of the Amazonas, where each sip is an homage to the artisans behind the bean. As you savor this coffee, you’re not just enjoying a beverage; you’re supporting a community’s dream and participating in a global movement towards sustainable and equitable coffee production. This coffee is a celebration of the Andean spirit, inviting you on an unforgettable journey of flavor, culture, and connection.
